Job Summary
CARE Nigeria is seeking an IT Coordinator who will lead and coordinate IT support services across CARE Nigeria offices. This role ensures effective network management, timely technical support, and smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure. The incumbent will supervise IT focal points in field offices, manage IT assets and connectivity, strengthen data protection and security, and leverage technology to enhance both operational efficiency and program delivery. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that CARE Nigeria’s IT systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with global standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Job Responsibility #1: Network Management
- Provide technical input during ISP selection and manage relationships with service providers.
- Oversee network setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting across all CARE Nigeria offices and guesthouses.
- Supervise IT focal points to ensure stable, secure connectivity and optimal LAN/WAN performance.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, VPN connections, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure visiting staff, consultants, and partners receive necessary IT support during assignments.
Job Responsibility #2: Hardware Support and Telecommunication Management
- Install, configure, and maintain IT systems and peripherals (computers, printers, scanners, etc.).
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Maintain an updated inventory of IT hardware and ensure timely repairs or replacements.
- Ensure the office maintains a functioning and cost-effective IP-based phone system (PBX).
- Resolve issues with mobile subscriptions, IP phones, and satellite equipment.
- Coordinate with the Security Department to ensure operational communication systems.
Job Responsibility #3: IT Asset Management
In collaboration with the asset focal person.
- Maintain accurate and updated IT asset registers in collaboration with logistics teams.
- Track issuance, use, and return of all IT equipment and ensure proper disposal processes
- Ensure timely insurance of all ICT equipment and gadgets
Job Responsibility #4: Incident Management, Security and Backup
- Coordinate first-level helpdesk support and oversee timely resolution of IT issues.
- Prepare periodic reports on IT operations, issues, and performance.
- Communicate system disruptions, updates, and improvement opportunities
- Ensure network and systems remain secure and virus-free.
- Report security breaches or misuse of IT systems.
- Oversee data backup and recovery procedures and maintain updated documentation.
- Update and archive all user and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) related documentation due to changes in the IT and Telecom infrastructures
- Oversee installation and maintenance of solar and other backup systems for IT equipment.
Job Responsibility #5: Data Protection
- Lead data protection awareness and refresher training for staff.
- Monitor compliance with CARE’s data protection and privacy policies.
- Support program teams in integrating data protection standards into project design.
- Ensure compliance with Government data protection policies.
Job Responsibility #6: T4D
- Partner with program teams to introduce technology-driven solutions that improve efficiency and program impact.
- Promote innovative digital tools and systems within program implementation.
Resource Mobilization
- Contribute IT insights and inputs to proposal design and resource mobilization efforts.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Required
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in IT coordination or technical support roles.
- Strong knowledge of hardware maintenance, LAN/WAN administration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
